Acoustic Impedance Short Course for Managers (JGW100M)
Course Description
Using Acoustic Impedance (AI) data provides benefits: improved structural and stratigraphic interpretation, more accurate maps and volumetrics, conversion of AI volumes into pay and porosity information, advanced reservoir description and characterization, etc. Hands-on interpretation examples will be provided to demonstrate advantages of acoustic impedance data volumes throughout the exploration and production process.
Emphasis will be placed on:
- Multi-disciplinary integration: wells, seismic and geology
- Layer Rock Properties vs. Boundary Properties
- Cross-plotting of rock properties to identify lithology and potential pay
- 3D Visualization, including direct volumetric calculations
Data sets include Gulf of Mexico and onshore case studies.
This is primarily an informational session to demonstrate the value of integrating the exploration process. No familiarity with Fugro-Jason software is required
Prerequisites: None
Course Benefits: Enhanced interpretation quality and productivity by using AI. Effective AI analysis on seismic workstations.
